Firstly create a side parting and take two sections from the front of either side of the head and leave these to one side.
Next take the rest of the hair and put into a low ponytail making sure the hair is nice and sleek and secure with a band.
Gently backcomb and tease the pontyail and then neatly roll forwards into a tunnel shape and secure with hair grips.
Start gently pulling hair from the centre of the chignon outwards until it is closed over completely and if need be add more pins to secure. (open pin and take it away from the hair you wish to secure and then back again on itself to create a tight hold).
I next took the front two pieces of hair and draped them along the sides of the head and onto the top of the chignon, you can create pretty plaits etc and I chose to pin flowers into my chignon to bring it all together.
Finish with hairspray!
This hairstyle is great for a wedding or a special occasion and I really enjoyed creating such a sophisticated look! Below are my images of my chignon.
